DIXEY Celebrating Diamond Wedding Anniversary! Ann and Alan Dixey will celebrate 60 years of marriage on April 1st 2021. They were married at St. Leonards Church in Shirland, Derbyshire. Ann, originally from Stonebroom, Derbyshire and Alan from Leicester, met as 16 year old teenagers when Ann’s cousin John Thorpe visited with his friend Alan for a holiday in Derbyshire with Ann and her parents, Phyllis and Cliff Armstrong. The rest is history as they say! John Thorpe was their best man after which Ann and Alan spent their early married life together whilst Alan was in the RAF. They both retired back up to Derbyshire and have enjoyed many happy years together in Old Tupton. Ann retired as a Specialist Stoma Nurse, having run ward Newton 2 at Sandwell General Hospital for many years and Alan retired as a Senior Lecturer from Birmingham Polytechnic (University of Central England) having lectured in Computer Aided Design and Electrical and Electronic Engineering for many years. Ann and Alan have a loving family which has steadily grown over the years. They have three daughters Jane, Sally and Helen who they nurtured and inspired to be the people they are today. Son-in-laws Paul and Tom and Grandchildren Gemma and partner Christopher, Katy and partner Jake, Daniel, Matthew and wife Kelly, James and partner Emma, Josh and partner Sarah, Rosie and finance Tom all look forward to celebrating this magnificent occasion when restrictions allow. Great Grandchildren Christopher, Jack, Elliott and Molly will all be joining in too! In the meantime, we all wish you a very Happy Diamond Wedding Anniversary and want you both to know how much you are loved and cherished. It has been a tough year and we have not seen as much f you as we wold like but we will certainly make up for it when restrictions allow. On your diamond anniversary, we send you all our love on this very special day, Sixty years of giving happiness, love and loyalty to each other must not go unmarked.
